You have a common rail style motor with the fast acting injectors, it can handle other styles of fuel but the risk is higher for breakage in the fuel system. The motor itself can handle anything you throw at it. Here's a better idea to go with running alt fuels; add a CNG injection system. An extra 100hp and 3 times the mpg. There are pickups right now that are getting over 40 mpg with just this addition.
