Default Insurance salvage yards buying racetracks

Here is a problem that seems to be killing racetracks in this country.

This quote is from Ron Ortiz in the "Atco is Done" thread. I'm only guessing this is the one:
"Oh, BTW, Emerald Coast Dragway in Holt, FL just sold to auctioneers."

Ah okay. I was under the impression EC had already been on borrowed time, that the last lease was a "stay of execution". It's still frustratingly sad what is happening. And SCREW Copart I'll walk before buying anything from them.

I asked Bret Kepner if he'd heard about Emerald Coast closing.... he added Dinwiddie, US41, Quaker City and Redline Raceway in Caddo Mills TX as all closing in the past few days. Sheesh. At that rate there may only be street racing by next weekend.

The biggie; they don’t have to worry about hazmat soil. That’s huge out here!

There's a picture circulating on Facebook of RT 66 parked full of GM trucks.

In the past the track here in Tulsa has stored new school busses from the local bus plant.

The owners have stored new cars there in the past also.

I don't think it should be anything to worry about.
