IHRA considering changing redilghts from "first" to "worst". If they do this in class racing it will just decrease them number of NHRA cars that cross over and run IHRA.

Chad,
Can you explain to me why you think this change would in any way affect the number of cars crossing over? All it does is level the playing field in the interest of fairness. What's wrong with that?

Dragracingonline.com reported last Friday that NHRA is considering the same change.

Why is it a good thing to stay on your converter for three seconds when you have already won?

Because you haven't already won until you leave. You may redlight worse than the first car did.
No red light will show until after BOTH cars have left the line.

well one of the advantages of building a higher class stocker or SS car has always been your opponents opportunity to hand you the race by going red first. I would think that in addition to the crate motor classes, stock gt, etc, this would be one more reason to not go race IHRA, especially if NHRA doesn't change it as well (they won't). Its tradition, ever since the first handicapped start. If they want to apply the change to bracket racing, fine. but leave class racing alone
edit: I was listing the reason as a reference for those who are always looking for a reason to not race IHRA. Our main reason is only one race close by.
