Thumbs up "WHAT IF" part 4

First thing is I want to thank Kenny Mile and the Class racer Forum for giving Alex Denysenko and my self the oppertunity to use this forum to start this project. The association does not yet have its permanet name but as soon as its decided on we will have a web site up within approx. 2 to 3 days and we will start to post info under the new part if this forum for Racing associations. We have a few title sponsors on line already and we will make this a real member association and anouncements on these sponsors at a later post.. We are planning to have Super Stock, Stock, A modified/comp. style eliminator similar to the old modified classes if possable, a quick 32 Super Stock and a quick 32 Stock with a CIC as NHRA,s comp. Also included is TOP Stock, and Jr. Stock heads up as per current rules. Part of the show will include the NSS cars also known as Nostalgia Super Stock from the NMCA races. There will be NO .90 classes so to allow time for qualifying and time trials without sitting at your trailers all day. If you run Top Stock and Jr. Stock you will be allowed to run in the regular stock eliminator as these cars will have thier own index without having to change wt. or the minor changes allowed fot these heads up catagories as long as the extra enty fee is paid. We are looking at a well known track (We hope.....Large and 1st class) at the moment but rest assured we will be on the west coast, South, North, and mid West for 2011 with a 4 to 6 race series. Thats about all I have right now and will let you know more as things come together. Right now we are possably leaning toward calling the association the "UNITED CLASS RACERS ASSOCIATION" that Myron Piatek suggested but that is not set in stone yet. Any comments good or bad will be taken under discussion. Remember this is all just coming together and all is not set in stone yet. By the way..... some TV rights are being looked at also so at last the sportsman racer will recieve some exposure that they deserve.. Terry Bell

Sounds great!

Stocker's etc. need to get out from under the racing associations and come into their own. I got tired of paying my dues and entry fee's to support the pro's and so did others, that's how NSS got so big. Now we are the top draw and make a little but more important we have fun!

Wish you guys a lot of success.

I applaud this effort and hope like hell that it's successful! The Stock and Super Stock racers have put up with too much abuse for far too long from the "HRA's," and it's time for a change. I firmly believe that.
At this point, I have only one suggestion. I'm not sure you need the "United" in the name of this new organization. "CLASS RACERS' ASSOCIATION" says it all; it's obvious that if you're putting on races as an organzation, you're "united." No need to point it out.... Plus, it was "born" on the Class Racers' Bulletin Board.

Less is more, when it comes to acronyms, and "CRA" is more succinct, and wastes no letters. Besides, it sets it apart from the "NHRA," "IHRA," both of which use 4 letters.

Long live the CRA! I hope it's as successful and long-lived as the NRA and the SAE!

Just my 2-cents.... with apologies to my Mopar buddy, Myron.

There is a ground swell of people that want to bring back the old "junior stock" from the '70's. The days of high winding small blocks and tri-five chevy's but of course there is no place to race these cars,

Perhaps this would give them an opportunity.

If I had my own series and I wanted something that would do well in a "Pinks" style TV show, I would use "regular" NHRA / IHRA class guides and combine 3 concurrent classes on a similar weight break like Top Stock. Sticks & auto's heads up racing just like you would find in the streets.
So all the ABC cars would compete heads up, the DEF cars, GHI cars, etc. I think it would be great racing, great spectator appeal and great on camera. Applies to Stock & Superstock. No Top Stock rules would apply to the regular classes.
Weight breaks might be an issue on 1/2# vs. 1# but if you can't get around an issue like that don't race.

IHRA has allowed the older cars for years. The pure stock class is just like the old Jr. stockers and yes we plan on having a place for them in the class racers association but be prepared for tear down inspections if you run one of them.
