59 stock cars paid $300 and do not get to race at the big go (didnt make the cut) smart move on nhra. they just pocketed an extra $18k

Looks like 58 new cars (08-14) made the field, with 46 or so Carb'd cars. The rest were 04 and down FI cars.

Factory Stock cars running 4 or 5 tenths slower than cars running their same combo get in, but not John Shaul at 0.88 under. That's a crime.

So right you are--its a GD shame that good cars cant race because of underrated factory race cars--nhra make a separate class for factory hot rods!

I don`t think being underrated has anything to do with it,it`s the FS cars with no HP penalty. I`d like to see what the qualifying sheet would look like if the FS cars had the same rules as the rest of the field for this event.

They simply would have slowed them down to being just under one second under to avoid the AHFS hit, just like some old cars have been known to do.

What would have changed? They still would have qualified.

^This!!!

Being a new car owner it sucks having so much hate due to the FS cars. I wish they would work something out for them, because they are on a whole other level then the production cars that are sold. Anyone thinks off the floor cars go 1+ under when you buy them are just crazy.

As far as slowing down 442OLDS is spot on. I know of MANY old combos that have 1.00 under on tap anytime they want it. I was bitch slapped this year by one!

A wise fellow from Comp told me "Some guys want to go fast and some guys want to win! What do you want to be?"

Indy is one of the few the require both, but that's why it's the Super bowl of S/SS racing right?

(Flame suit on.)
