I'm new to racing class after a couple years of brackets. As a kid I loved growing up at the track and watching these cars that looked like they were right off the streets stand on the bumper, and listening to the high winding stick shift cars row through the gears. Watching 15 second stockers get chased down by 9 or 10 second stockers and all of it made me hooked. I was lucky enough to be able to accomplish a goal from when I started racing in 2007 still in high school and that was make my S10 a stocker. I got the chance to run a couple combo races this year and pulling into the lanes with this elite group that I watched as a kid growing up and dreamed being a part of, I finally was able to be part of the show

What I love about class racing is whole craft of the game that continually makes you think, think, think to run with the best. From the tiring research of out- engineering the factory engineers to finding a few more hp’s to the quick look at the flag before your last dial number goes on, class racers are the most intelligent, competitive, driven racers on the planet, and the beauty is….anyone can join and do it too.
My favorite things:
• Waking up to the screech of the track being dragged in the AM, knowing it’s for us.
• The first call, “Stock to the lanes!” or “Super Stock to the lanes!” depending on what I’m driving first.
• The flip of the coin “do you have a lane preference?” and all the personalities that go with that encounter.
• The research and talent of qualifying on the ladder where you want (Thanks NJ Stats!), picking a spot and nailing it.
• Taking my thumb off of the button on the last yellow and knowing it was way close! (They’re in trouble now!)
• The tight top end racing (who took that stripe?)
• Your win light on!
• Watching the best drive the stripe when your day ended early.
What the best thing of class racing? All of it; the challenges of your class rules, the friends, the food, the travel, the struggles, the victories, the coulda, woulda, shoulda’ s, the bench racing, looking at a Wally on the way home and knowing you were the best that day. What more could you ask for a car guy?
Thanks Wally Parks!

Well im not in this thread for the kool stuff being gave away but just for the spirit of adding to this great thread! I love Class racing because of the Challenge to run a car under a strict set of rules and the challenge of being both a Heads up racer and a good bracket racer and going up against some of the best doorslammer racersin the buisness in my opinion. I am a thinking racer and even though I currently race a bracket car I am planning to eventually join the Stock Eliminator wars and see how far I get! I am one of the younger generation and only 21 years old and I want to prove Class racing isnt dying and hopefully with some luck become a contender and I would be satisfied with being known as a tough competitior. I love the folks that race these cars and from my earliest days of watching and hanging around awesome IHRA Modified racers such as john mathias,The Buchanon brothers,Don Rhode etc and then going to Super Stock which I was always a fan of and watching second gen racer Todd mathias find success and watching Joe Buchanon build and develop one awesome piece of a Mustang to watching Charlie Westcott jr in the WARFISH for the first time to every year at the Norwalk Nationals having a Thursday night cookout with Todd,Joe and the familly.I have gotten to know Alex Denysenko planning out my Stock Eliminator build this winter and what a wonderful and knowledgable person he is! I love 99% classes in all of drag racing but nothing holds closer to me than Stock and Super Stock and Modified Production!!!
