Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
I don't have a long history as far as Class racing goes, but I think one word sums it up: people. I have met and spoke with some of the greatest people in all of drag racing when starting this journey, and reading these threads, and even more at my first National Open. I see a group dedicated to keeping their sport alive, for the fun, the challenge, and the camaraderie. Sure costs go up, and things arise now and then, but as a whole, the opportunity to race against and meet the people in Class racing is as much if not more of an incentive than the challenge of making something that has no business going fast perform in a tight rules window. So many neat cars and combinations and stories, and such a great colorful history as well. I hope more people see the same thing and continue to get involved, if at the least going to the events to watch, all the way up to jumping in with both feet to build a car. On that end, I have been involved in circle track, off-road, and demolition derbies, from driver to promoter, and no one group has been more willing to help a new competitor, or even a seasoned one, get started, refine, or repair their cars. Cars and combos will come and go, times will be good and bad, but based on the merits of the folks involved here, I just don't see any other place I want to be!

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
Ken,
I enjoy keeping up with the latest helpful information on here. Classracer has allowed me to seek help in other places, where I may be going or in need of help when I’m there. Most all racers are very helpful and willing to lend a hand. Happy Holidays Ernie Neal SS354 |

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
When I first started this is where I came for advice and encouragement. It is where I stay informed and up to date on current events. I also do a little Live reporting from time to time which I enjoy very much.

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
I have been going to the races since 1968 when my uncle Jim got out of the Air Force. Great time being involved with this. With the age of the interweb.... great sites usch as this came along and with it we were able to procure a nice Buick Apollo due to the help of many racers and their feedback. Being able to get information and tips certainly helps. going to the track and seeing racers that you have "chatted" with is fantastic!
Thanks for keeping this site running! It provides great information and entertainment. I even mis Ed O'Brien. We had some interesting conversations. As the saying goes, you have to stir the pot once in a while or the stuff on the bottom burns! Oh! Why I like class racING, not racer..... easy! Working within certain rules and restrictions. Things to the thousandth of an inch, of a cc, using those old parts, having them next day aired from Oregon to NJ... The friends you make at the track. Class racing is the best! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! |

I like sharing ideas with others while picking up tips on better ways to implement them.

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
What I enjoy most about Class Racer are the new friends I've made, and the old friends I've got back in touch with. I'm one of those who raced in Stock in my younger days, then got away from it. My career path went in a different direction - now that I'm semi-retired I've come back to one of my early passions. When I first discovered Class Racer I used a 'handle', like they do on a lot of web boards. I quickly realized that I didn't get any respect hiding behind a screen name.

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
I can keep up with friends, make new ones, keep up on rules changes, do some bench racing, and talk about the 'good ol days'. What could be better?

Re: ClassRacer.com Christmas Giveaway!
:):) Being a part of Class Racer has helped me to a better person. I haven't class raced since 1973, but still enjoy the cars, the competition and most of all the people. My handle has gotten me some fame locally. When I am at one of the s s/s combo races at our local track I am known as Carguy49. Makes me feel apart of the action. I have known some of the locals for over 35 years, and some I have known just a year or so. The conversations that some of us get into at the events are priceless. The website has allowed me to acknowledge some accomplishments of people , both local and far away, and to be involved in the sport that I love so much. Merry Christmas to all and God Bless every one of you in the coming year.
