I looked at a '69 Camaro back in the eighties that was all original with a 250 six. Also Stock racer Mike Warren used to race a white '69 convertible with a six cylinder.

I saw a first gen Camaro with the 6 combo run within the last few years somewhere on the east coast. It may have been at an IHRA race.

Mike Warren still races a '69 Camaro with a straight six. Mike is a regular at GLSSA association races.

Maybe it's time for them to start looking for some more easily doable, somewhat easy to find combos that could/would benefit some "less than independently wealthy" Racers who might want to give Stock Eliminator a try?
I think the intention of getting HP off the 302 Fords was started with ‘less than independently wealthy’ racers in mind. One thing is sure, the sport needs new racers

Ya know Dan, in order to be discriminated against you have to be acknowledged in the first place.
Pure Stockers and Crate Motor cars are being discriminated against by the IHRA. They've never been acknowledged by the NHRA (other than a couple of benevolent DDs who let them run at their 1/8th mile Opens).
