Dan:

Am I reading this correctly ?

ANY valve spring can be used (regardless of measured pressure) as long as it looks OEM ?

I'm seeing the new cam rule in the 2014 rule book but it still reads the same as before for the springs.

Maybe it just hasn't made it into print yet but I'm going to wait until I see it in black and white.

Better get that in writing or amend it in the rule book cause look at page 49 2014 rule book,

VALVE SPRINGS:
Stock replacement per OEM spec. and must check on factory spec.
open and closed pressure

You better get clarification on what Mike says. "If it is oem design and size it is ok" says nothing definitive about pressure.

Hello Mike:
Called Bullet Cams for advice…
He asked me to confirm on my LT1 1995 SBC Engine.
My Car runs G/Pure Stock. 1995 Impala SS.

Looking at a replacement spring from Associated Spring VS574..
Lists as a LT-1 replacement spring.
Need to know if it qualifies as a Pure Stock Legal Spring for my car.

Keep in mind a email assurance does not hold the sway of a rulebook. Tech inspectors do not carry copies of emails.

"Stock replacement per OEM spec. and must check on factory spec. open and closed pressure."
