Do you think the IHRA just cracked open their version of Pandora's box by loosening the camshaft rules ?

Am I reading this correctly ? ANY valve spring can be used (regardless of measured pressure) as long as it looks OEM ?

Maybe it just hasn't made it into print yet but I'm going to wait until I see it in black and white. |

[QUOTE=Dan Fahey;412873]What does OEM duration and overlap optional mean?
OK.. emailed Mike Baker ..and it is true. Can use any OEM Spring. This is Mike's response to my email.. "If it is oem design and size it is ok" QUOTE Better get that in writing or amend it in the rule book cause look at page 49 2014 rule book, VALVE SPRINGS: Stock replacement per OEM spec. and must check on factory spec. open and closed pressure Pandora's Box

You better get clarification on what Mike says. "If it is oem design and size it is ok" says nothing definitive about pressure.

Keep in mind a email assurance does not hold the sway of a rulebook. Tech inspectors do not carry copies of emails.
![]() "Stock replacement per OEM spec. and must check on factory spec. open and closed pressure."
