Thanks Woodro,

I'm not worried about the bushed lifter bores. I'm concerned about the excuse Joe used when people had trouble with his lifters, and whether or not the new folks are going to use the same excuse if problems occur with their lifters.

Bruce

The story I have heard on the lifter bushings is that if you had them, that was the problem for the breakage because the lifter bores would tighten up, but if you didn't have them, that was also the problem because of the possibility of mis-alignment! Sooooo, we have 2 ways to lay the blame.
But seriously my experience with the Shubecks has been good. From what I have seen though there is no room for any mistakes, you loose a lifter and you loose the motor.

Thanks Jim,

A little double talk from old Joe. I hope the new guy does not follow in his foot steps.

Joe Schubeck is still in the lifter business, I talked to him today and he is making liters again. I have sold several sets of Schubeck lifters , they are the best solution to prevent flattening a camshaft. I have lifter bushed many engines using Schubeck lifters and never had a problem.

Like I said, I don't know all of the behind the scene deal. I really doubt that more than the two or three people involved know the whole true story.
I have sent an email to Bob asking him his take on the bushed lifter bore deal. I will post his reply. They will post their contact information and phone numbers when they are ready for new business. Currently, it is dealers only, from what I have been told.
I am not an exclusive dealer, just one of the first to take a leap of faith and send a total stranger $6,000.00. They have in turn sent me 10 sets of lifters since mid March, and I have sold all but two sets. I still have one set of Chrysler solids, and one set of Ford hydraulics.
I inquired about Pontiacs, I will post that as soon as I know.

Jeff
