We have changed the height of the tree to 95" from ground to center of pre stage bulb about 3 years ago. Also guard beam was changed to 13.5 inches 3 years ago.

Another noteworthy point is the beam itself. The beam is about 1/4" wide, and the beam is two inches up off the track when measuring to the top of the beam. It's the staging beam height that determines the rollout.
I've seen good racers confuse the pre-stage beam as part of the rollout equation...it's not. The prestage beam is there for location purpose only...to let you know you are within inches of the stage beam. It's a valuable lesson to take a tire to the starting line and roll it into the beam...and to see how small a distance that last 1/4" is from not staged to staged. It makes you realize how carefully you must move those last few bumps in if you are going to cut consistent lights. Bruce Deveau |
