Note a SS 85 Camaro is not legal with an 82 hood and a 85 motor in a SS class. It is legal as an 82 car in GT but that would mean a harder index.
The BIG question NHRA will not address fairly is the decision to stop the 71 454 Vette from using the cold Air hood. That part is not a problem if ALL cars are policed but how could they LEAVE the HP the same at 475 when the motor in a camaro is 435? GT. Comment I got was it might become a dominant combination. HUH?

That's another problem I have with NHRA why is a hood change leagle in a "GT" car when they run Super Stock as well??? If you couldn't get it from the factroy (as installed, not parts in the trunk) it shouldn't be allowed in S/SS classes.

Z my point was that if someone wants to run an 82 hood on a Camaro then it is called an 82 with an 85 motor and competes in GT since the rules changes to both ways on motor/chassis combination. The car I am talking about was using the light hood and calling the car an 85 SS class car to take advantage of the slower index of SS/KA AND the light hood.

Way too many classes.Lots of them are used to keep from running a class where you know you cannot win in case of a heads up.I know this to be a fact, . Lots of the racers wait til last minute to see who is running what class. I go through this at tech at every event. Always some one wanting to know if so and so is running this or that .
