Mike, if the effort is to attempt to grow the sport, the challenge is getting the content to the right audience and that’s not boomers or Gen X, but rather Millennials, Gen Z and Alpha.
Problem is none of them wants to see a TV show about old cars and the old guys that race them with handicapped starts. So my advice is focus on the newer factory hot rods and younger drivers. Otherwise you’re just pandering to a demographic that’s already involved or a fan.
Bring the right race content to TV and supported by YouTube channels is the key, evident by the past huge success of Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings though it appears even their time has passed now.
The only way what we do survives no mind grows in the years and decades to come is, America has to fall in love with their cars again, to create a car culture that will culminate in high school parking lots across this country as it once did.
