Even Edelbrock used to sell a unit some years ago: the nozzle attached to the choke tower and it used a vacumm switch to activate the system. Water injection is still used on small helicopter turbine engines for high altitude/hot day operations.

.....just thinking out loud here.......wonder if such a system could be used instead of nitrous?? Might not be as powerful, but certainly would be a power enhancer.
