The only thing adding roller cams to all cars in stock is give an advantage to racers that can afford another probably at least $2,000 in a roller cam, lifters, and valve springs to match. And don’t be tempted to buy cheap roller lifers. They can cause similar catastrophic events as a schubeck that experienced valve float one too many times.
I have no skin in the game either. I race a super stock car so I already have a roller valve train. I think the reason some are asking to get the roller cam and lifters approved for the older flat tappet engines is that probably half of the stock eliminator cars now have roller cam and lifters. Some of the new stuff even has CNC ported heads. The cat is out of the bag so let the guys with the older classic muscle cars step up into this century and even things out a bit. Just my observation.
Maybe make it like the aftermarket heads with a small HP penalty to run the roller stuff

Or, they could just build a newer car that actually came with roller lifters....
