You know, I am sitting at home laughing my azz off. My Camaro came with factory sunvisors , I think I will just flip it down and block with it ……With all the issues we have with NHRA , some GENIUS sitting in the IVORY tower decides that stockers can’t block the tree…

No kidding. How utterly arrogant and stupid. I'd say that I'd like to hear the rationale, but then, I'm already on pain killers, I don't think I could add enough to survive the attending headache. Thanks NHRA, for adding another reason to consider not returning. It's not just the blinder rule, it's the attitude behind it.

You are probably correct about the ivory tower personnel.
My take is something like this is a concession the NHRA has made to the insurance provider. Probably saved the NHRA money on the rate, someway. I wouldn't be surprised that they had a few claims that were blamed on blinders or restricted vision caused by blinders.
Either cut a rise in rates or lowered a rate.

Some rules are made for the racers safety if a racer has a blinder on his windshield and he hurts someone or kills them, that racer could be liable >

IF... this rule change is because of a specific incident involving a Stock/SS car, I would like to hear from someone who knows of or witnessed the accident or near accident. I have a hard time believing something like this would have happened and someone in our community doesn't know about it. Either somebody here knows the actual story or the other option is that this supposed incident didn't happen and this was just a BS excuse to get rid of blinders.

Don,
With all due respect, we're drag racing. This isn't kindergarten. We do not need nannies. We certainly do not need nannies who are not now, nor ever have been drag racers, but are in fact just clowns with business degrees wearing suits. Who likely do not even attend drag races unless paid to do so. Sorry. We're racing high performance automobiles. We should not require NHRA to "protect us from ourselves" to that degree. We're supposed to be adults.

You know, the truth is, IF something happened, the solution SHOULD be for NHRA to instruct 2-3 end track personnel, you know, the same people who watch to see if you bypassed the scales or fuel check, to watch cars coming off the track, and if anyone comes off the track and does not remove their blinder device, of whatever type or size, stop them, issue a DQ, and have them leave. In fact, once they've passed tech, which should include an inspection of any blinder type device, if anyone is observed with any form of blinder that does not fit within the rules, issue a DQ, and have them leave. Enforce the rules correctly, and equally, and the problem is resolved fairly. It won't take but 2-3 DQ's and people will obey the rules, and there won't be a safety issue. Be honest, there is NO EXCUSE to be driving in the pits with any device intended to obstruct your view. None. You are not in that big a hurry to return to your pit area.

OMG !! LIKE WTF !! As far as Bubski heard the rules !! Its no blinder !! get it ?? so you wanna "race" with every possible aid in a "Performance Based" class ??? Can someone pleeeeze show Bubski a vehicle that came with a blinder and not a sun visor ?? This is supposed to be Stock and Super Stock !! not bracket 1 !!! Get over it and try to keep your weak neck steady and focus on the tree !! Bubski sure hopes that the entitled cry babies on CR are not the majority of Class Racing !!
