well what i was told is that after they flush mount all the glass on the car to the NHRA rules it would be more cost effective to go fiber. Also it will help keep them uniform and help prevent the body from being altered. They are to be exact diemension of the stock body

Who would make the molds for a carbon fiber body. To expensive for the limited number they would sell.

Five Star is going to make the molds for Ford and GM they need a lighter and better car for the future of the oversized remote control electric vehicles.

Take the time to look at an Andrew Wolf's article in the Dragzine magazine, regarding the construction of the Factory X, BlackBirdX for Geoff Turk at B&B race cars.
Enjoy,

Enjoy,
I read the article already it is a great article. I communicated with Geoff already about the Carbon Body and he spoke with Lonnie and they are going to allow steel factory panels also for the people who started the build with the factory parts. Geoff is much further along in his build so he is going with the steel panels. I am a fat a:: so I probably will wait for the carbon body. Bickel told me it would cost a lot more with factory panels due to time it takes to use the factory parts verses the carbon body. I just wished before they announced a class and published the rules that it wouldn't change before the class starts that is all.

With that being said, will Five Star make stock appearing bodies or use the current Pro-stock molds?

According to the current rules, the new X body must be exact to the stock body. That rule left Pro Stock about 1988.

They have decided to stay with the original rules and go with the steel roof and quarters. After they delayed and confused the car builders maybe we can get back on track. We still have to wait on a carbon stock style front clip because no one makes a stock appearing one.
