The '63 Z11 "Mystery Motor" 427, makes me wish it wasn't such a mystery and more Impala's, Bel-Air's, and even Biscayne's would've been made with that engine, so they could've been allowed in Stock and Super Stock.
The late-60's 427 L88's and ZL1's definitely give me reasons to love the AA/SA class, and Ford's 427 Fairlane Thunderbolt, also allowed Chevy and Ford to play with the Chrysler 426 Hemi in that 9sec class. Nothing would be cooler, than to see a 4-wide heads up class race between a '64 Ford Thunderbolt, a '64 Plymouth Savoy, a '65 Dodge Coronet, and a '69 Camaro....how about it guys and gals? Hey Bob Frey, how high would that be on your COOL-O-METER????

How about a 428 Tri-Power 4 Speed Catalina with 8 lug wheels???? How cool would that be. If anyone had one, you are a very lucky person.
The nearest I came to that was a 70 G.T.O. with a 4 Speed and Ram Air 4. Non original engine, but I made it as close as I could.

Thanks Mark for setting me straight. My fingers and brain not on the same wave length while typing. I will blame it on a senior moment.

I am NOT a fan of 4 wide Drag Racing, but that combo would be OFF the Cool Charts.

Carguy29,
I know a young guy that just put a 428 Tri-Power in a 67' Firebird that belongs to his Dad...The car sat for quite a few years and he wanted to fix it back up and get it running so his Dad could drive it again..... |

Yes they are, and I'm certain my racing buds Dennis Alvey, Brian Pott, Rusty Hall, and Richie Pauley (amongst many others), would strongly agree with you!!!!
