Default Re: Excessive Breaking?

Jerry, his brothers and family are great people, so this is not intended against him. It is just that Jerry was DQ-d.

IMO excessive braking needs to be eliminated somehow. We have all been dumped or dumped someone but the history of drag racing indicates that it is an acceleration contest not a acceleration / braking contest. I for one was racing a soft dialed 155 MPH Modified car with my 131 MPH car. I was in the right lane and watched him brake/smoke twice. I won, he still broke out. Point is...150 mph and locking up brakes can not resemble being safe.

I am in favor of racing that takes slamming the brakes out of the equation. Enter 60, qualify 48 and run dial within 5 hun perhaps.

I'd say give a .03 hun Cushion. NO BRAKES PERIOD !!!! NO letting off either. Or your DQ'd. Unless the other car broke our spun during the run. If it's a close race YOU must STAY at FULL Throttle.

There is also that famous quote from Blazing Saddles "Are we doing any good or are we just jerking off????"
