Jerry Emmons nails the tree with a stout 0.001 light, but his pass is DQ'ed for excessive breaking.. MOV: Took the stripe by 0.0080 seconds (approximately 17 inches) in a double breakout. What the heck did he hit something? |
Re: Excessive Breaking?
Possibly the NHRA brass reads ClassRacer? See thread from the Winternationals below:

Re: Excessive Breaking?
I'd have to say this is the worst call in history, last year in Vegas a guy did a complete 360 from lokcking up the brakes and didn't get DQ'ed and now Jerry IS dq'ed and there wasn't even smoke off the tires and it never got out of control. Sad

Re: Excessive Breaking?
Nhra may not wanted a division 4 guy to double up with a win today to go with the winter nationals win. Sounds like Jerry Emmons got screwed.

I certainly can't say anything about Jerry's run because I'm not there but yours definitely needed to be addressed. It should certainly be interesting to hear how this plays out. And there certainly is a certain NHRA high ranking Tech official frequently reading this forum as I had found out on the Mopar Intake debate. |
Re: Excessive Breaking?
I have the video of what the dq'ed Jerry for. It I don't know how to upload it here. He got the shaft for sure

Re: Excessive Breaking?
Jerry is driving great to start the year. Tough call. He was sideways in the victory at the Winternationals. He did it again in the quarters at this race. So I'm sure NHRA said that is enough of that. Well he dipped it real hard and someone must have been watching real close.Actually they were both hard on the brakes.

Re: Excessive Breaking?
That makes sense now if a little to hard on the brakes you can tell
