I am assuming you are talking about a license plate. If so, I have a question(a legit question, not a smart a-- question) because I don't know. Are/were the engines(block, heads, intake, etc...) that are in the Drag Pak Dodges available in a car with plates? Oh, and by the way, thanks to the Hill's for the "live from" reports. I don't know how you have time to race and report at the same time but, it's great when us stuck at home folks can't be there.

Crate motor cars are still under factored. We got a short block from advance auto, put the stocker camshaft in it had a set of heads that got a 3 angle valve job, put the words biggest p.o.s intake (torker 2) that was ever made and ran the car 130 pounds heavy and ran it with more problems than anyone could imagine. Still .450 under. Try to do that with a traditional stocker and see how far off the index you are.

Problems with tear downs is you have NO time with the two day races to pull anyone apart. Flat out, unless they MAKE a racer show up on friday and tear down its simply not going to happen.

Now tear down on pure stockers, Honestly (and Danny Sr and I have spoke about this in length, so no disrespect to any of the officals) but WHO knows how to accurately check lift, overlap, and duration along with spring pressure on any pure stockers. Now i sat out for 3 years and at the few races ive been at this year (some watching) theres alot of pure stockers running around sounding like regular stockers of today. I was around back in the day and still remember what they are suppose to sound like, and there is a bunch that are wrong. Some even in the wrong class, that i believe.

Now that ive voiced my opinion, ill apply for the head tech inspector for IHRA stock and super stock. The only issue is i believe alot of people wont like the outcome.

I remember when IHRA ran a 32 car qualified field at it's national events and they tore us all down( pull head) at every event. When you went to tear down it was usually the same 28 chevys, a cobra jet, a hemi mopar and a couple AMC's. The same was true for NHRA and it's class winners. A real pain when their seal on motor had not been broken from the previous race.

Pittsburgh was a points race, not a National event, I don't remember NHRA having tear down at points races other than for setting a record?
Now National events is a differant story, I have been to alot of those tear down parties
Say what you want, IHRA is a fun time for a guy that can't take a week off to go to a race.
It reminds me of the good old Saturday night grass root racing at Utica Rome, Spencer,Fulton,,,
My son drives now, I just love the people, dialing the car in and watching Stock and Super Stock !!

Teardown at NHRA national events is nonexistent anymore. At Gainesville I went fast enough to get 2 tenths off my index. I went to Danny and asked if he wanted to see anything. He said we will let you know tomorrow (eliminations day). My car is a simple pump it teardown. And they didn't even do that.

Don't forget - no traction issues either. I can't recall the last time I heard anyone complain about traction at an IHRA event. That's all we've heard about NHRA races, oh and at what about $100 more per event. Money well spent, keep supporting someone who just sticks it where the sun don't shine. Instead of dragging the Pittsbugh event out until the weather cooperated the organizers buckeled down with the help of the participants and got 2 days of racing packed into one day!!!

But, did they check to see if the numbers come off with a chisel, almost as if they were made of epoxy?
