Mark J Rebilas ( nhra photographer as well as many other sports) just posted this on his twitter page
"hearing NHRA has banned photographers from using flash on starting line. I rarely use flash on starting line but Wow, just wow..." D Ciccarone Last edited by gtaa110; 02-22-2013 at 01:15 PM. Reason: Mistake |

While NHRA is at it, why don't they ban those ugly *** vests the photographers have to wear. |

And further more why has this never happened at an IHRA race?
And I am a track photographer. If you have a track, Baytown for example, with very high bleachers, you can shoot almost an aerial shot. Plus what is NHRA going to do? Tell fans they can't use their flashes at night in the grandstands. One way to solve that, they would have to tell fans that they cant bring cameras in the gate. Ridiclous |

Next we will hear that the photographers have to wear a second neck strap in case the first one breaks.

I think remedial English is order before you criticize anyone on an open forum. Cody is a good guy, and while I don't know the particulars of the instance you mention, I am sure there was no ill will in his response. It was his first attempt at promoting, and I'm sure he learned a lot, both positive and negative. I'm sure that since you're being so vocal on here that you've always been perfect at anything you've ever attempted, on your first attempt.

Never said I was, but you've done an excellent job of proving your own ignorance.

Thanks for the defense guys. Fascat, I have no idea who you are. You never called me. I will actually pm you my phone number to where you can, if you want, and I will let you know how it happened. Chad, Drew, Thank for the defense boys. I appreciate it. I'm sorry this post had to be hi-jacked for something like this, and I would have like to have read the posts before they all got deleted.
I understand the flash at night time thing. As a photographer, and drag racer, I agree that a flash should not be used until both cars leave the starting line. I was saying the flash photography should not be banned. |
