I know exactly what he was talking about and I'll be the first one to say that I'm glad I don't have to travel those distances BUT every Div. race I go to will be a 7 round race with a bunch of "Hitters" at every one. I've been out west. I'd love to live out west. Just not right now. I like my short tows to any one of a half-a-dozen tracks BUT you don't see west coast Racers coming east to win championships!

The exception, not the rule. Let's just leave this that each Division has its advantages and disadvantages so if someone is serious about winning a National title choose your home Division wisely!

People are going out west to win a championship b/c the last few races of the year are out west. If you are hinting that its easier to win on the west coast, you are badly mistaken and obviously have not raced much out west. In fact, it can be argued that you see more champions coming from the east coast because the quality of competition from top to bottom does not stack up with the west.

If that's the case then why don't more racers come east to run earlier races if they are going to chase a championship? [QUOTE] If you are hinting that its easier to win on the west coast, you are badly mistaken and obviously have not raced much out west.[QUOTE] I didn't hint at or say anything like that. I did say that there are more 7 round races and a lot of "killers" (hitters, whatever). Quote:

Why don't we just make it your first national and your first two divisionals count for the national championship. That way everybody has a chance. Even division 5 & 6.

Yes, there would be. It would also stand to reason that, um, how do I say this ... there would be more "non quality" competitors also. I think your chances of running a hitter are greater in a 32 car field than in a 132 car field, wouldn't you agree? Heck, I claimed division 1 in 2000 and only went to three division 1 races that year and I finished second in the division. -Toby Last edited by Toby Lang; 01-12-2012 at 06:10 PM. |
