NEWS FLASH!!! NEWS FLASH!!! NEWS FLASH!!!

I have been directed to post the following:

The rule in respect to weight for Stock and all S/S classes will be enforced exactly as stated in the 2011 NHRA rulebook. That means the heaviest a car can weigh in its class is the minimum of the next heavier class. There is no longer a 5 pound deduction as was used at Norwalk.

Here's hope that this clears up the matter and everyone is once again a happy racer.

It should also be pointed out that a few classes have no maximum weight. An example would be classes such as U/SA. The rulebook for U/SA shows a weight break of 20.00 or more. "Or more" means there is no way to figure a maximum weight.

(Disclaimer: Opinions expressed by me on this forum are exactly that, my opinions.)

Jack,
That means you don't have to take the full cooler out.

As with almost every change thats been made lately, some people just have to find something negative to say about it. Shoot I'm glad they made this rule though it really doesn't affect me, My stuffs not fast enough to run heavy. I've been waiting for the big"atta boy" from all the guys complaining about all the "heavy" runs, I guess it's easier to complain than to commend. Joe

Very simple. You run the class where your weight falls. What's wrong or difficult to understand about that? What could there possibly be to complain about?

I'm going to sound stupid here but most of you know that already but what the Hell does it matter to the NHRA if I show up for B/S 500lbs too heavy?
It doesn't affect anyone but me, I'll just be slower because of the weight.

Already commended them when the rule was originally announced. Atta boy, again!

Thanks for the clarification, Travis.

I wasn't complaining. It's really not that big of a deal, but I just wanted them to follow what it says in the rule book (which they did) or change the rule.

Jim....Its because some of the new under rated DP's and Mustangs along with a few of the old (yes under rated) cars run really heavy in order to keep for getting hit with HP by the AHFS. its easier than trying to win a race by shutting off at 1000 ft and carry a bumper bolt length thru the traps.
