The 275 HP for my Firebird was dead honest. The problem is that the HP numbers in the book are factors not HP numbers.

The cylinder head work they can hide in the aluminium LT1 heads is a big factor there. Hang one out of the GM crate, or out of a car, on an engine dyno, they won't make anywhere near their stock hp factor. Thatr's the big reason the S & SS factors are so different. The SS heads aren't all that much better than a good set of Stock Eliminator heads. Put a set of actual stock castings on a good running LT1 Stocker and see how fast it is now.

Every body is bitichn about the Ported Ford Heads for Stock on this 5.0 235 hp combo! Does anybody understand it has been legal for the Chevys, if anybody choses to run the Z06 427 it has been in Comp Guide since 2006 Not sure if NHRA even knows that the heads are CNC Ported from the Factory!!!!!! BTW with Titanium Rods and Intake Valves
