I went to the IHRA race in W. Palm Beach. I was treated nicely and with respect, can't get that at home. I spoke with Myron Piatek and he was deeply concerned with the type of treatment that I might recieve from my fellow NHRA racers, once they found out that I attended an IHRA race. Well, now we will see, there I admitted it, I went to an IHRA race. I could not help it, it was a race, and I like to race. Not only that but I actually saw some other racers who run NHRA too. I will not mention thier names to protect them from harsh treatment.
It was an adventure that had deja vu all over it. I had a pit area, the track was 1320 feet, I had to weigh after a run, they called us to the lanes several times, we were paired for eliminations, we got time slips, it was all so familiar. There were Super Street, Super Gas, and Super Comp cars there, but they were called Quick Rod, Super Rod, and Hot Rod. Are you getting the deja vu part. The coolest part was no fuel check, and rightfully so, what a waste of time and money. Anyway I had fun. So now if any of you out there want to trash, humiliate, intimidate, holler, accuse, belittle, or insult me for going to an IHRA race, we let it be, I stand guilty before you, and you know what, I do not give a darn if you like it or not. Bunch of pompous morons. Ron Ortiz U/SA a race is a race is a race
