Congrats to all, uh, hmmmmm..........well, yea, Mayhew too! :p
Welcome back Manny - I think! ;) Gotta talk to them about spelling your name right: http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCPh...02875#indextop Brian Radley - WOW - great job in SS! I finally talked NHRA S/ST racers Ernie & Mike Griggs into trying IHRA. They enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back. Hope they can spread the word. |
Re: Congrats To West Palm Winners!
I went to the IHRA race in W. Palm Beach. I was treated nicely and with respect, can't get that at home. I spoke with Myron Piatek and he was deeply concerned with the type of treatment that I might recieve from my fellow NHRA racers, once they found out that I attended an IHRA race. Well, now we will see, there I admitted it, I went to an IHRA race. I could not help it, it was a race, and I like to race. Not only that but I actually saw some other racers who run NHRA too. I will not mention thier names to protect them from harsh treatment.
It was an adventure that had deja vu all over it. I had a pit area, the track was 1320 feet, I had to weigh after a run, they called us to the lanes several times, we were paired for eliminations, we got time slips, it was all so familiar. There were Super Street, Super Gas, and Super Comp cars there, but they were called Quick Rod, Super Rod, and Hot Rod. Are you getting the deja vu part. The coolest part was no fuel check, and rightfully so, what a waste of time and money. Anyway I had fun. So now if any of you out there want to trash, humiliate, intimidate, holler, accuse, belittle, or insult me for going to an IHRA race, we let it be, I stand guilty before you, and you know what, I do not give a darn if you like it or not. Bunch of pompous morons. Ron Ortiz U/SA a race is a race is a race |

Re: Congrats To West Palm Winners!
Hello, my name is Jim Wahl and I race with the IHRA! (here is where you all shout "Hi Jim!).Ron is correct! I have to say, this is my second IHRA race in years and I had a blast also. Being treated with respect and having the Division Director thank you for coming? Woah! I thought I was dreaming! But you say, they have such low car counts. I say who's fault is that? Yours! That's who! Go ahead and stay home rather than race with the IHRA and I'll have a better chance at winning the race! IHRA does not cut the purse if there is a low car count unlike NHRA. Me? I'll race both and have twice as much fun as you. Jim

Re: Congrats To West Palm Winners!
You can say that again Jim. Anyone that skipped the Immokalee and West Palm Races missed two good races. I just dont understand the low car counts. At West Palm 7 super stock cars and 15 stockers. Almost all of the cars there were regular SSSSA racers. The track was good and the weather was nice. We need to support any of the tracks that run our classes. Even the super catagories and the Tops were short car counts.

Re: Congrats To West Palm Winners!
I wasn't there but I too would like to thank you guys and gals for giving us a shot. I hope you truely enjoyed the experience and will be able to support Div. 2 for years to come. It had been a long time since we had a true presence in South Florida but look out world....we're baaaaaack. I love this sport and am true to IHRA but am a firm believer that we need both organizations to be succesful and continue to grow the Drag Racing brand. By the way, did anybody have to wait for the alcohol cars to run? :D
Can't wait to get back to PBIR next year for the Nitro Jam, it is a first class facility without a doubt. Thanks again and don't forget Jackson and Darlington are both doubles so all you guys still have a shot at a divisional top 3 finish and a shot at the Championship. |
