The only other thing to consider (other than having a car vs. finding and buying a car) would be the difference in weight between the two. The Monte Carlo has to weigh only 3170 to make U/SA while the Camaro has to weigh 3770. I like towing light cars.
Valid point, Billy.
I actually didn't realize the hp rating on the 267 was that low.
It might be worth a shot for someone willing to spend the money on the rear end.

Maybe some math major could analyze the specs and give us a hp and torque potential.?

It wouldn't be too expensive if he could find a GN rear!

I would not put 1 cent into that combo but I have a brand new set of .060 cast pistons in the box for FREE. It's the carb! The 305 2G is a possible and by the way I have one for sale HAHA just needs the motor. I have not had much luck with any two barrel.

We're putting a Moser 12 bolt in the car. I realize it's overkill for a U car but I have a few ring and pinions of various ratio's as spares so we can see which one will work the best when we get it running. we're starting out with a 5.13 and go from there.

A side note on the g body rearend problem, it's quite easy to make a 8.5 from a 78 up caprice fit, needs to be narrowed, and you need to make a set of upper arms similar to a body swap arms but it's cheap and easy if you can fabricate.

While on the topic of U/SA cars, there was an Olds Cutlass I remember About !0 - 12 Yrs. ago with a 260 V8 combo that was killer in that class. As I recall NHRA outlawed this combo. Can anyone give the details, just wondering... I always thought another good combo for this class would be a '75 Chevy Nova with the 262 - 2bbl. V8. What do you think Billy ?
