There is everything from 118 mph to 155 mph cars, and no one is guaranteed to have an advantage. In this class anything can happen, literally. I've seen guys win with .58 light and lose with a 0.0 light. I've seen super fast cars chase down super slow cars and then slow down so much that they had no power left for the finish line punch.

We welcome the Super Gas cross overs too. Remember what happened a couple years ago at the Gator Nationals? A bunch of Super Street guys entered Super Gas and at fourth round, most of them were still in competition.

It's not an "easy" class, but it sure is a fun one!
You tell'em Shelley, as long as your car can repeat, you can win. 1966 Super Street Chevy II, aerodynamic as a 2 story house is very competitive against the big speed cars like: The Flying Monkey Ed Wiley, the mobil ice cream facory of Gary Federico, and Keith (I really wanted to paint the big red Ford UPS brown) Fulp. I've been wooped by them all and occasionaly beat them. The best thing about Super Street is the people. A lot of the guys that used to run "gas" now run street with us. You don't need a tube car to hit the 500 tree. And as far as us Super Streeters at the Gators, we gained at little respect when still hanging around to the quarter final. You will not find a better "family" to race with.

Thanks for the encouraging input and it is nice to hear how complimentary you speak of each other. You have given me something to think about and I must say you have reminded me that the camaraderie is just as important as the competition.

Rick, welcome to S/ST -- you're going to love it! It is a great group of folks! By the way, all you "Hired Guns" from Florida need to read the Silver Dollar "FaceBook" page to catch up on all the latest about the Silver Dollar points situation that's going to be resolved this weekend. There are four of us with a clear shot to win and it's CLOSE! Ben and Sheldon are giving y'all a hard time and I need all the help I can get. Flying Monkeys, Snakes, Weasels and all other critters are needed.

One great thing about Super Street is we always get all our time runs. In D1, Super Gas is the first to get bumped but Super Street is always the last to get bumped. Yeah it sucks to be up at 6am to get ready but you are usually done around 3pm or so and you're not playing the "will we, won't we get our 2nd time run/first round" game the Super Gassers are constantly playing.
Super Street is a great class. I was running footbrake stuff, sucked terribly, went to Super Street and even when I don't win, the competition is sooo tight and the people are great I'm enjoying it so much more.
