Thats what they need to do! Take all the advantages of building a fast stocker away. Cool, now we can all build wheel standing 4 door impala wagon 6 cylinders and really get the spectators to watch! NHRA would love to have us then!

Maybe we could lobby for taking away the "Clean Tree" advantage of the slower car.

It seems like every change that is made, just brings out more people wanting other changes.

I'll throw in my vote to get things started.

Somtimes when racing but far more from years on the announcing deck, I've seen many a race where the quicker car had the worst red light and won, and wondered why,,,,,, I KNOW why, but wondered still.

I've seen a few races over the years where a M or N car goes red and B or C cars go far worse on the red side and wondered if they were red because they already knew,,,,, but I've also seen FAR more runs where B runs a C or a G runs an H and both go red milliseconds from one another, yet the first car always gets to pack it up early, even if the second was the worse of the two. And it happens far more between close cars then it does those with a large disparity in dials.

As times change, so does technology, with technology available to handle this type of situation, why NOT use it. Others have pointed out the change that happened with breakouts, from first to worst. Why not with the reds too.

Hasn't the object always been to run the BEST race you can in YOUR lane, and if the other guy beats you, it was because he was BETTER than you in that particular race? Where is this any different?

My .02

Unk

Years ago back in the 70's we learned about the fact that once on side of the tree goes red the other can't. There were very few racers who knew that (believe it or not)
So when we ran a car that we had to give a big spot to my partner would leave a bulb early roar by them the lift/hit the brakes. Most thought we could run much faster than we did.

Like I said before, as someone who's gotten to leave first quite a bit over the years, I could live without this correction. But I can't really see who would be dead set against it ,except for maybe someone with a real fast AA car. Everyone else could just as easily benefit from it, as not.
There are more and more 9 second cars every year. That would have a bunch of the B & C cars leaving first
So what's the problem with fixing this inequity?

Wow, we've already got fast guys on here crying to keep NHRA from making what would be a good change.

I'm not surprised to see Chad Rhodes being the first whiner...

NHRA, since I know you read this site, please take note that the only people that have a problem with this change are people in FAST cars.
