People have tried this, with little/no success. Consistency is terrible.
Think about it this way: let's say you pick 5 seconds. Because of changes in weather (DA) your car is winding to a different RPM in the first 5 seconds, then you shut it down for some period of time. But from a different RPM each time. If you shut down right off the line, you come down off a consistent (rev limited) RPM every time. The RPMs for the first N seconds are always the same. Not if you choose your way. Also, think about how weird it would be to judge the stripe when slowing down... that'd be strange... But hey, give it a shot... ![]()
