Sonny, David Rampy, Horace and other AL racers used to come to this little dinky strip called Green Valley and race 1/8th mile brackets. It was sort of a gathering of friends to race for a couple of hundred dollars. Really a lot of fun!

I think Greg has given the answer. The guru of 68 hemis is Mark Janaky. He and Dell Jones have the most documented info and photos around. Great source of factual info.

I'll ask dad about this car, he knows quite a bit of info about all the cars that came to GV. He was there every weekend..

Sorry to hijack.But reading about Sonny Ray got my attention.I happen to grow up in the same town.He was friends with my parents.When I was a kid I used to hang around his shop,sweep the floors,clean parts,wash the cars from time to time.Still remember the day he got the G.T.O. Judges(one of em Rampy won his 1st national driving).Was fun getting to hang around him,Clark Davis (Barry's dad,who's Rampy crew cheif) ,Red Ford,and Ronnie Traffensted.Learned alot.I remember the times at Green Valley in Glencoe Al in the late 60's,early 70's. Even today,at 54 yrs old I'm still involved in drag racing,going from track to track as an event starter/official.Owe alot to Sonny and those guys.Even today when I go home to visit the family, one of my first stops is Rambo's shop,see how everybody's doing.
