What happened to this car
The SS/AA car Sonny Ray drove to a SS win that Harold Stout owned. This was around 88 or so.

I know this really doesn't help in reference to locating the car. Stout sold his RV business sometime back. Got divorced, sold his house and pretty much dropped off the map. He always had some really nice equipment. I'd imagine most of his stuff has been spread to the four winds. Robert Swartz |
Re: What happened to this car
Herb JR--Get a hold of Rampy--He & Stout have been buddies forever--Stout now lives in Vegas( I think)
Any way Sonny I think is Rampy's Father in law -so get ahold of either of them maybe they can help!!! Dick |

Re: What happened to this car
If you are talking about the car that was originally one of the West Virginia Hemis, a guy from outside Marshall, Michigan bought the car from Harold Stout. He raced it for a while until he broke the motor and then traded it to a guy in Ohio for a hemi powered Dodge pickup. That is the last I heard about it.

Re: What happened to this car
If you are talking about the car Danny Crowley drove for Stout that Stout bought from Eddie Smith that Eddie Smith got from Sox which is the car with the polished tricks in the Gator National photos, I bought that car from a guy in Ohio and it is currently in Florida

Re: What happened to this car
Neither of those are correct. This is the car Sonny drove in the late 80's. Around 88 or so.

Re: What happened to this car
Herbjr, if you are talking about the red&white cuda, I bought it from Stout at the end of 1985, I raced during the 86 season in division 3. After racing ended I broke the motor on my dyno. I sold it to Eddie Smith in the spring of 87, after that who knows?Gregg

Re: What happened to this car
That car was built by my dad in 1979 and he ran it for 4 years. I drove the car for only 4 months before he sold it to Dale Meers of Buffalo Ky. Dale then sold it to Stout. So yes that is the car. Who knows where it is now.

Re: What happened to this car
If Eddie Smith had it last the IRS took all his cars and Royce Freeman had all of Smiths cars and trucks, Royce had two 68s one is listed on racingjunk.
