Add me.Too bad you cant sue them for non support. The part about them not supplying proper safety equiptment is outragous.I'm sure a good OSHA lawyer would put an end to that.We couldn't have safe fun races without you guys (and ladies).

Angry Re: 10% pay cut for NHRA employees?

Meanwhile...we need to buy seatbelts every two years, fire retardent pants in Stock, full face helmets, those stupid diapers to run 9.99, and they can't even supply their own employees with safety equipment? What a crock!

A lot of us, myself included, have also purchased our own safety equipment because NHRA cannot provide adequate and safe equipment to everyone who works.
Last year I worked I believe 6 national events, including the US Nationals marathon. I think my W-2 said I made $2800 total. I spent $400 of my own money on a helmet and scrounged some free gloves because NHRA could not provide me with safe equipment that properly fit.
So many people say it is BS that I had to buy some of my own equipment. But honestly I don't mind. My "payment" is from the racers...some of them are pros, but mostly you sportsmen, many of which I am proud to have as freinds as well, who thank me and the other peons for what we do every day.
Thank you. We as racers DO appreciate what you guys do for us. It is a shame that you guys make so little for doing so much, while the empty suits make so much for doing so little, and most of it wrong.

You are all very welcome. And thanks for throwing the "ladies" in there Ed, since I am one.
