I'm not the expert on these, but according to my AERA Catalog Listing {which is accurate}.
The #3969854 Casting
Was found in both the 2-Bolt Main and 4-Bolt Main configuration.
Castings
* late-1969. 396...... { 325 HP ~ 350 HP ~ 375 HP }
* 1970 ....... 402...... { 330 HP ~ 350 HP ~ 375 HP }
* 1971........ 402.......{ 300 HP }
* 1972........ 402...... { 240 HP }
This Block casting was found in the Camaro ~ Chevelle ~ Nova
