Different cars run the 1/8 mile differently. Even in the same class. High torque cars will do a lot better in the eight.
I do agree with taking out the 1000' clocks in eliminations though.

Doing the sheets in the stands (some still do now ) would at least make it a lttle more aggrivating though.....
No matter what you do ,someone will still figure out a way to curve the system....
