Piedmont Dragway can and will offer a race like this next year. It will be pre entry and must get a min number of entries. I will do it on a pro rated up purse after the min is met. The more cars the more money with a guarantee. The question is how much to I charge.

I say 300 for 2 races, one Saturday on Sunday, I can do this race the first week of April 2009. If we get 50 cars the purse would be 7500 per race.

3000 win
1500 ru
500 semi
2501/4
125 1/8

Better than a divisional....if we have 100 cars you double that...

Sounds good Herb. Especially if you pay round money.

Hey Herb, I will kick in a little something for this....give me a call 615-826-4914

If you can get a few sponsors to kick in some stuff for best winning and losing packages (gift certificates, product etc.) for each round, it makes it even better.

The concept sounded good until buy backs, double entries etc.come in to play. Do you really want all the killers to have 4 chances to win??Moroso has the best format, you lose you go home. Buybacks will kill the car count.

It sounds like we have enough guys interested, I will personally guarantee $5000.00 to the winner sponsered by my business Fast inc, lets get a game plan together and make it happen.

FYI, I am not trying to take anything away from NHRA or IHRA, just trying to get us all together for some racing that is more economically suited for todays racer. Lets dont say we are going to go and then no one show up, that happened everytime there was a stock/superstock combo hosted here, so they stopped contesting them. Buy backs are fine with me either way, however, I think having two races in one day would be a great idea and even a high rollers eight or sixteen car race?? If you are already there try to make the best of it.

Rather than buy backs, double entries, and other gimmicks, have a consolation race that starts AFTER the second round of the big race. ONLY those eliminated from the big race can enter, for $50, $75, or $100 (promoter's discretion on the entry fee), and have 100% payback. You could also offer a "gambler's race" after the third or fourth round, with a high entry fee (say $500 or more) and winner take all 100% payback, with a must run final.

Just suggestions. It's not real likely we'd make it, but we'd like to.
