Doug I'll still be the same old lovable fuzz ball I've always been.
Tom,those 401 KRs are far and few between now. There's no firm documentation from
the factory and a lot of the paper work from Randall is gone. They all started out as 304
V-8 cars though. There are a few around that the owners claim at original cars.
And for the price of the car you also got one way airfare to Mesa Az to pick up the caqr.
And Tom please,it's not a gremmy. That' word is like someone scratching a chalk board.
Bill they only made + or - 42 of them. And all were dealer constructed.
Jack, they're hard to sell as 401 KRs without any documentation. They can always be done
as a so called "tribute" car though.

I've been calling him MR. ED for sometime now but humor aside, that's cool Ed that your car is famous, and you have a photo of your nice looking car in that thread (I'm a bit jealous)! I have to admit, since your car is also against the norm (as a stocker racer), I wish that AMC dealers would've been closer to where I lived in Denver than Chevrolet & Ford dealers were, because I would've been happy to own a Gremlin too (or even a Hornet)...my first wife had a '73 and it was fun to drive could've made an interesting race car too??? One benefit to buying one (even with the six-banger), would've been the option of being able to drop the 304 V8 into it...knowing me however, I would've stayed with the 6-banger to have something different...Cliffords Research was very famous during the 70's and they could've guided me to the parts needed to make that car quicker than my Cavalier....certainly easier to work on!!!

LOL, I'll chime in on here since Ed is a huge fan of me....Hey Ed! I bet your Gremlin is not as modified as the front end of Jerry Emmons sheet metal on his AA/SA that was driven by that real super rich guys son in Fontana, Ca the weekend I took my Cadillac out there and raced it for the first time...It was the first time I ever took a new car out and did'nt make the final round...put that in Wikipedia....I got witnesses..I did judge the roll out correctly.. Had a -.016 on first pass..then backed way off to keep conservative..

Kind weird how I broke out and took 12 mph off while blurping three times and hitting the brakes twice... I took way too much strip...Anyways, anyone here familiar with that?
