I know that the 361 4V is a good combo. While pulling parts at a salvage yard, I came across a '63 Newport 361 2v under a tarp that starts and drives with little body issues.
It can use the 915 head but the HP factor is still the same as originally listed. The 383 2V lost 25 HP and has 1.0 more compression for that same year. Yeah, it would be great to have a Chrysler in the lanes but is it do- able as a dime rocket? |

My partner John Greenwood won AHRA World Championship in 72
with a 65 Ply Wagon 361 / 2 Brl. You could run a Holley 500 / 2 Brl. on it and that worked well in AHRA. Though with the factory Pea Shooler in place it was a true pooch indeed!

Interesting that more 2v combinations are being considered.
