Currently there are only two approved blocks, and they are both GM blocks. I haven't did much research on the LS stuff but you may want to look at Dart. they offer one I believe, see if its something you can get approved. I was lucky enough to get the Dart Little M 305 approved last week. but its just something you will have to look into. Good Luck.

Click on the NHRA Competition icon near the top of the page on this site. Then look in the menu on the side of the page it takes you to and you'll see a link to the accepted products pdf file.

The LS9 block is the strongest factory GM aluminum offering that could be considered a candidate for stock or super stock, but not for the weak of wallet.

the best factory block is the C5-R block. it's made from "hipped" 356-T6M aluminum thats what is used in LeMans and Daytona not sure if its legal, Part # 12480030
