LS Stocker block
What is the best number for a LS stocker block to use. Tom

Re: LS Stocker block
Currently there are only two approved blocks, and they are both GM blocks. I haven't did much research on the LS stuff but you may want to look at Dart. they offer one I believe, see if its something you can get approved. I was lucky enough to get the Dart Little M 305 approved last week. but its just something you will have to look into. Good Luck.

Re: LS Stocker block
Where did you find the block list on NHRA? Tom

Re: LS Stocker block
Click on the NHRA Competition icon near the top of the page on this site. Then look in the menu on the side of the page it takes you to and you'll see a link to the accepted products pdf file.

Re: LS Stocker block
The LS9 block is the strongest factory GM aluminum offering that could be considered a candidate for stock or super stock, but not for the weak of wallet.

Re: LS Stocker block
the best factory block is the C5-R block. it's made from "hipped" 356-T6M aluminum thats what is used in LeMans and Daytona not sure if its legal, Part # 12480030

What LS are you building?

Re: LS Stocker block
The Daytona Prototypes of recent years use the OE based GM LS9 block.
The block number doesn't have to match anything, just needs to be from the same OE engine family, or on the approved list. GM LS2 blocks have been sleeved down and used in LS1 stockers for years, much like the sleeved 454 blocks used in some 396 stockers. |
