Default Cam Installation

What is the best degree to install a cam on a 396/350 oval port motor for Stock Eliminator? Cam card says 106 but I think that is a little much.

Start at 106 or whatever you think will work then advance and retard from there to see what car likes. Forget what other people say and try it yourself. Everybody doesn't have the same car and combo.Or put engine on dyno and see what engine likes.
