Glad to see it in the classification guide.
Too bad it was rated at 260 hp. Should have been 230 hp, IMO.

That combo needs at least 350 flywheel hp to barely run the K/SA index.
Looks do-able, but won't be easy because there is almost zero aftermarket support.
Long tube headers are available, but that's about it.
Not sure if any aftermarket EFI systems will work on that engine.
For now it would have to be the factory ecu.

That bellhousing bolt pattern might be a challenge for PA transmissions or some other bellhousing maker to mate the C-4 up to it.
I believe the 3.5 Ecoboost V-6 has the same bolt pattern., so the investment from them might be worth it.

That engine looks like an 8,000 rpm screamer with the right valve springs.
Deep rear gears and a deep 1st gear might be the ticket.
Lightweight 4500 plus stall convertor ?

Or.... a Jerico trans with a custom bellhousing ?

I have been researching the 3.7 and cannot find much info on it.

Looks like a fun combo once you get past the EFI system and C-4 bellhousing issues.

I think the V6 could be a really cool combination. If it could make 390, it would be a 1.00 under car in K. I think it will probably be easier than the 302 at 380. I would say 4500 stall would be low. I see no reason aftermarket EFI systems wouldn't work.

Isn't the factory rating on this 305hp? So they took off 45 hp and you wanted more? I wish I could have 45hp off my factory rating.

Exactly! We own a 2011 Mustang with the 3.7 and it is a very impressive engine. I don't understand the reduction if Ford advertised to the puplic 305 Hp, why is it derated by NHRA without it going down the track as a stocker yet?

There are a lot of cars that are under rated at first ! but it does not matter for as the first guy that goes a second or more under things will start to change adjustments in HP rating, lower index etc. so with that said you have to be a fool to blast the index ! Me personally am happy with 4 to 8 tenths under. just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions !

Dan,
Just E-Mailed Mike Baker on Monday about Classification in Pure Stock for the 2014 Mustang V6 ! did not hear anything yet probably after the Holidays I was down south a couple weeks ago with the Mustang and I got to say this should be a good combo in G/PS trim or close to 3680 lbs with a Tune ,Cold air kit and rear lower control arms and cat delete pipes the best run was a 13.27 @ 105.60 not to bad still have work to do !
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
