Default Live from Las Vegas

We are here in beautiful and sunny Las Vegas for the National Open, T-n-T, bracket race, etc etc....

Current air is pretty good for here from what I am told. 51 degrees, 26% humidity, 28.16 barometer, 1620 feet.

Cars are really starting to come into the pits, we don't start until 11 am. I will try to take some pictures and get as much info as I can to you.

They called Alcohol cars and Pro mods - and no one is moving, so I guess not many here. I don't see any cars in staging. We are supposed to start in 50 mins. Air Force is busy practicing - very very cool! Our tax dollars at work, but an awesome show for us here.

That is one of the fun things about the track, the daily Air Force display. Just awesome.

I don't know about you, but given how much we spend training pilots and buying planes, I want them to maintain their skills-and if we get a good show besides, so much the better.

Oh, I agree! I wasn't complaining! I heard on the local news apparently one of the jets had engine trouble yesterday and dropped two "bombs" right near the track here on it's way to the emergency landing. The LVMS Manager heard it and saw the smoke. Practice makes perfect! (I was THIS close to going to the Air Force Academy out of high school, I think those pilots are uber cool and what they do even cooler!!!!)

Beth,

I didn't think you were complaining-and I can remember traveling in Nevada with my folks in their motor home in 1981-the Blue Angels came flying down the highway in formation-uber cool is the right term fr what they were doing. Good luck and have fun-are you guys going on to Phoenix and Pomona too?

Add to the fact that they put their @sses on the line so we can sit at home and do what we love to do, let them train so when they are defending our country they are safe and return home to their families!!!

Beth,

Thanx for the pics and updates... hope you guys have a ball, and do some winning while you're there (at the track AND the casinos). Go get 'em!! (And you're right about our flyboys, too, I've met a ton of them at airshows - I'm also a formation airshow pilot - and these guys are unbelievable, and the nicest group of totally focused professionals you could imagine. You would love Nicole "FIFI" Malachowski, she was the first female USAF Thunderbird pilot, she is a real hoot)

Wow, Marvin - I didn't know that! You will have to tell me some stories the next time we are hanging out!!!

Elims day is here. We are entered in both the bracket race and the Combo. We each got another run this morning and haven't seen a final qualifying sheet, but I doubt there were many changes, if any. Only about 12 or 14 showed up for the Combo run this morning. Not sure if people were sleeping in or just went home. I see Abe's rig is gone. We will see shortly how many went home. Time to go race!
