A buddy is looking for a Carter 4 barrel carb for a 300HP 327 Super Stock project. The numbers he provided me with are #3460 or 3461. Supposedly these are the only carb #`s used on a 64 Chevelle with this engine combination. If anybody knows otherwise, please let us know. A good rebuildable core is prefered, but a race prepped unit may be considered. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I have one. Please email me direct.
Also pretty sure he can use a 3459S or 3462S Numbers don't mean anything to NHRA just as long as size is correct. 1562x1686/1250x1562 has to be a Carter AFB but, he might even check, he might be able to use a NEW carter AFB if size is correct. Last edited by Terry Cain; 08-26-2011 at 04:42 PM. |

Hey Rory,
I have a 3721s which is a 1965 300 horse 327 carb. It has the correct dimensions as the 64 carb. Call me at the shop 604-270-6588 if interested. Terry |

I might have one Rory, It doesn't have any numbers on it though. The fuel inlet is on the drivers side rear, Only one I've ever seen like it. Anyone know what it's off of?

(example 3721S)
the application numbers for a GM factory o.e.m. AFB should be "Stamped" into the passenger front corner of the base plate.... a blank base is probably an aftermarket carter afb (which may / or may not be accepted for the horsepower claimed).
