The only thing getting looked at this past weekend was after 3rd round of Super Gas, they pulled over several of us and inspected our electronics.

I'm not too happy with NHRA now as it is, but here again, you're paying for something that you are not getting. NHRA is supposed to police the classes, and that's apart of S/SS. If you race those catagories expect to get torn down. But here again, NHRA is ignoring their responcability to the racers and the integrety of the classes. Even though I don't quailify well, I expect to be taken apart at any given race, I haven't been tapped on the shoulder since 1979. Don't think that NHRA is doing anybody any favors by not doing tear downs, just the oppisite. You pay for a membership and you pay to race, but you don't get anything that you are paying for when the tech group fails to tear down cars. There should be at least 10% of the field at evey national event being torn down. Back in the 70's and 80's almost 1/4 of the field was taken apart even if you were apart the week before. I don't like tear down just like anyother racer, but I know that it's apart of the racing I choose, that's what the real difference between bracket racing and class racing.
NHRA has rules that out rule common sense!

Why bother with teardowns? When the techmen find something wrong they get overridden by the higher ups. Then the next year a rule change makes it legal.

There is a problem with that way that NHRA does their work, and that is why Stock is nothing more then a modified production class on 9" tires.
Stock was supposed to be "STOCK", not some bastardized cars being called stock. As racers, we allowed NHRA to plow over the class without any reguard to how true meaning of the competition of "Stock". Allowing all the after market parts was a mistake in the very beginning which NHRA turned into a money maker for them selfs as well as an excuse not to have to do their jobs which includes measurements which are the heart beat of tear downs.

Casey you can't blame NHRA for allowing the "superseded" parts for every part a crybaby racer begged them for it.
You can find fault with NHRA for not enforcing the rules.
