In Stock at Indy the #127 qualifier is -.744 -- the #128 qualifier is -.744 and the first non-qualifier ( Dan Fletcher ) is also -.744 -- anyone know how this works ? Who gets picked ? Is it speed? Or is it who went first ?Or who has the shinyist car? Or ...............

Jack,
My understanding is in qualifying it is the 1st car that runs that number, so Fletch likes to be the last one down the track, this may cost him, but I doubt it because there will be some alternates racing tomorrow.

Jack,
I think you are right , it is speed when you have the same ET.. Unless they have changed it in the last 5-10 years, it was based on MPH in Div. & Nationals .... But I do agree with Bob, there willl be a couple of move-ups based on the Barn ....

I don't think it could be speed. The higher class car would always have the advantage. It is speed in the heads-up Pro ranks, but first to run the number is first in for Sportsman.

Artie -- I believe Alternates are only used for replacing contestants that are tossed - once a racer is qualified he ( or she ) stays in ..............
OK - this is a test -- everyone get out their Rulebooks please ( And use the "East Coast" version thank you ) .
