Default Re: Pure Stock at divisionals, why not?

Just to let everyone know that I have started communication with Pure Stock association from Michigan, on starting a new class for Muscle Car 1975 and newer(lots of Camaro Iroc's) should have something for the 2012 season. This will be a great entry for someone wanting to race at an affordable class. I know that many in the upper classes have small fortunes in their cars but we will try to keep it affordable by having et or bracket racing within a specific time. ex; 1983 Monte Carlo ss et 15.90 to 15.50 in complete stock form. Hopefully this will catch on. This would be a great grassroots program to help people move up to stock eliminator or just stay in this class and have fun. Just for the fun of it I was talking to many people in the stands at Indy during stock qualifying(the ones like me who didn't mind melting in the heat, Toby Lang is still the man, after recording hours upon hours in the grand stand, ok I digress, many would be racer just can't afford racing in stock and think they need a fortune to be competitive. As we know it doesn't, just become good friends with a stock Guru like Billy Nee's or Mark Yaccavone and voila you're racing. For the lowly grunts or plebe like myself Showroom stock looks like a homerun. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and forward to Div 1 $100.00 to the winner and $50.00 to the runner up for the Dutch Classic. You never know, could be the best thing since slice bread and it's what our sport needs(new Cars). Claude Ruel
