I'm sure there's an explanation how Chevelle wagons got designated R.
I know I ran R @16 lbs in 73-74 with a full size Chevy.
If you take the heaviest 65 Chevelle wagon (3351) and bring the hp down to 210, it's still 15.9... So they must have been 15 lb cars in the late 70's .
That's only a move down of one letter (to R)
So there had to be only one class removed at first the way I see it.
I'm sure Travis could look it up for us when he gets home.
