Hey Jamie who is Danny? I'm guessing a tech guy or NHRA higher-up?
Brian, I agree an illegal hood scoop doesn't help you become a better driver in a bracket race but it sure wouldn't hurt in a heads up race or when you are trying to qualify in a tough indy field, no? People could make a thousand excuses as to how illegal parts don't make you a better driver. I mean, a nice big-block crate motor in my car wouldn't help me be a better racer but it sure would make for a less expensive and longer lasting experience with much less maintenance as I wouldn't have to buzz it as high and check valves every few runs. But that is why they have Pro and Super eliminator. Go put that snout on a bracket car.
The whole point of class racing is the rules! That's what makes it interesting.. well that and big wheel stands of course.

And the first SOB that tells me it's not legal I'm going to show him that picture with the two rivets holding that thing on and ask why mines not legal!!! Sorry I'm tired of the damn Rules that are different from one spot to another.
